SystmOnline allows you to request repeat prescriptions and much more
About SystmOnline
If you wish to, you can now use the internet to view your medical record and request repeat prescriptions for any medications you take regularly and look at your medical record online. You can also still use the telephone or call in to the surgery for any of these services as well.
Being able to see your record online might help you to manage your medical conditions. It also means that you can access it from anywhere in the world should you require medical treatment on holiday.
The service is open 24/7/365 and can be accessed from your home PC, Tablet or Mobile phone.

Proxy Access to GP Online Services for Parents and Guardians
We understand how important it is for parents and guardians to be involved in their children’s healthcare. GP Online Services can help you manage appointments, prescriptions, and health information. However, to protect children and young people, we follow strict guidelines when granting access to their records.
Children Under 11
Parents with legal parental responsibility can request proxy access to:
- Book appointments
- Order repeat prescriptions
- View limited health information (e.g. immunisations)
Access is automatically removed when the child turns 11. We’ll contact you beforehand to discuss next steps.
Children Aged 11 to 15
At this stage, children may begin making decisions about their healthcare. Proxy access is only granted:
- After a GP reviews the child’s ability to make informed decisions
- If it’s in the child’s best interests
- With limited access (no full record viewing)
We reassess access periodically and encourage open discussions between families and clinicians.
Children with Safeguarding Concerns
If a child has known safeguarding risks, proxy access will only be granted after a GP review. Sensitive information is hidden from online view to protect the child. In some cases, access may be declined to ensure safety.
Verifying Parental Responsibility
To request proxy access, you’ll need to provide documents confirming your legal parental responsibility (e.g. birth certificate, court order). We also verify identity and may consult safeguarding leads if needed.
Young People Aged 16+
At 16, young people are presumed competent and may receive access to their own GP Online Services. Proxy access will be automatically revoked on their 16th birthday and a new application will need to be made if it is to continue.
