Important Update: Housebound Patient Policy
As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure fair and consistent care for all our patients, Lime Tree Surgery has updated its definition of what it means to be housebound.
Updated Definition of Housebound:
A patient is considered housebound only if they are permanently unable to leave their home even with assistance, and doing so would result in a detrimental impact on their health.
This change helps us provide appropriate support and allocate our home visit services to those most in need.
What This Means for Patients:
· We are currently reviewing all patients previously recorded as housebound.
· If a patient no longer meets the updated criteria, we will contact them directly to explain the change.
· These patients will be expected to attend the surgery for appointments in future.
Concerned About Your Status?
If you have been informed that your housebound status is being removed but feel you still meet the new criteria, please contact the practice. We will be happy to review your case and consider any new medical evidence or information you can provide.
We remain committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to all our patients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
If you have any questions, please contact us via our website or call reception on 01903 264101
