Volunteer Trustee Opportunity
Represent the Patients of Lime Tree Goring
The Lime Tree Surgery Charity is seeking a volunteer Trustee to represent patients registered at our Lime Tree Phoenix (Goring) site and help shape how charitable funds are used to support patient wellbeing across the Lime Tree Surgery community.
This is an excellent opportunity for a patient who is passionate about their local community and would like to play a direct role in guiding the charity's work.
About the Charity
The Lime Tree Surgery Charity exists to raise and use funds to support wellbeing initiatives for the benefit of Lime Tree Surgery patients across our practices in Worthing, Durrington and Goring. The Charity works to improve the health, wellbeing and experience of patients by funding projects and activities that fall outside core NHS services.
About the Role
Under the Charity's Constitution, the Charity Management Committee includes up to three Trustees, with one Trustee representing each Lime Tree Surgery site. Trustees help oversee the Charity's activities, ensure funds are used appropriately, and contribute to decisions about future projects and priorities.
We are currently seeking a Trustee to represent patients from the Lime Tree Phoenix (Goring) community.
As a Trustee you will:
- Bring the views and perspectives of patients from the Goring area to Charity discussions.
- Help ensure charitable funds are used in ways that benefit local patients.
- Contribute to decisions about fundraising activities, grants and wellbeing projects.
- Support good governance and stewardship of the Charity.
- Attend Charity Management Committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
Who Can Apply?
In accordance with the Charity Constitution, applicants must:
- Be aged 18 or over.
- Be a patient of Lime Tree Surgery.
- Support the aims and work of the Charity.
- Be willing to apply through the Charity's self-nomination process.
- Be able to serve a three-year term if elected.
No previous Trustee experience is required. We are looking for someone who:
- Cares about the wellbeing of their local community.
- Can listen to different viewpoints and represent patients fairly.
- Is willing to contribute positively to meetings and decision-making.
- Shares the Charity's values of community involvement, inclusivity and support for patient wellbeing.
Time Commitment
The role is voluntary and unpaid, although reasonable out-of-pocket expenses may be reimbursed in line with the Charity Constitution. The Charity Management Committee meets at least four times each year.
Interested?
If you would like to help ensure that the voice of the Goring patient community is represented and play a part in supporting wellbeing initiatives for local patients, we would be delighted to hear from you.
