Pancreatic Cancer Screening
Some families have a higher inherited risk of pancreatic cancer.
Patients may be eligible for pancreatic cancer screening if they have a strong family history. Eligibility usually includes two or more close relatives on the same side of the family with pancreatic cancer (for example: parent & grandparent, parent & sibling, parent & aunt/uncle). Some patients may also be eligible if they have a family history of pancreatitis or have a known inherited gene mutation (e.g. BRCA1/2) AND at least one close relative with pancreatic cancer.
If this sounds like your family, you may wish to check whether you could benefit from specialist assessment.
The EUROPAC team welcomes self-referrals from individuals concerned about family history. You can contact them through the ‘contact us’ section of the EUROPAC website HERE, emailing europac@liv.ac.uk or calling 0151 795 1256.
